Serving with Purpose Across the Portland Metro
November was another full and meaningful month for our Handle-It team as they continued caring for low-income homeowners throughout the Portland metro area. Every project reflected our commitment to safety, comfort, and dignity for our neighbors.
Oregon City – Restoring Safety and Light
In Oregon City, our team tackled several electrical fixes that made a big difference. We installed a new dryer outlet, added a bright kitchen light, and replaced a front door lock that had compromised the homeowner’s security. These small changes brought peace of mind and improved daily living.
Beaverton – Protecting Homes from Further Damage
In Beaverton, volunteers repaired a damaged gate and fence, restoring security and curb appeal. They also addressed bathroom issues to prevent water leaks that could have caused costly damage down the road. These proactive repairs help keep homes safe and sound.
Portland – Repairing and Preparing for Energy Efficiency
In Portland, our team repaired and painted a kitchen ceiling for a client preparing for insulation work through our Energy Conservation Program. During earlier electrical work, a 3' x 3' hole had been accidentally created in the ceiling, and our volunteers stepped in to make it right—because every detail matters.
Ongoing Projects and Volunteer Impact
Beyond these completed projects, we continued work on several others that are still in progress. Throughout November, six dedicated volunteers contributed a total of 20 hours to these efforts. Their time, skill, and compassion are the heartbeat of this program.
Gratitude for Our Faithful Crew
As always, we are deeply grateful for our faithful Handle-It crew and their unwavering commitment to serving our neighbors. Every repair, every hour, every act of kindness makes a tangible difference in someone’s life—and together, we’re building stronger, safer communities.
