A Month of Meaningful Work
October was a month filled with purpose, progress, and heartfelt service. Our dedicated Handle-It volunteers stepped up to assist 12 low-income homeowners, addressing critical home repair and safety needs that directly impact daily life.
Restoring Mobility and Safety
Two homeowners with mobility challenges received much-needed repairs to their wheelchair ramps, allowing them to safely and confidently leave their homes. Another client now moves in and out of their home with ease, thanks to a rebuilt set of hazardous steps.
Enhancing Comfort and Efficiency
In King City, volunteers installed a brand-new Milgard sliding door, replacing an old, difficult-to-open one. The new door not only operates smoothly but also improves the home's energy efficiency.
Responding to Urgent Needs
In Portland, our team quickly responded to a windstorm-damaged chimney, replacing a tarp to stop an active leak and prevent further damage. These timely interventions make a world of difference for homeowners facing unexpected challenges.
Small Fixes, Big Impact
From minor electrical and plumbing repairs to installing safety grab bars, our volunteers ensured that clients could navigate their homes more securely and comfortably.
Gratitude and Community Spirit
We are deeply thankful for every volunteer who gave their time, skills, and heart this month. Your compassion and dedication are transforming lives—one project, one home, one neighbor at a time.
Together, we’re building more than repairs—we’re building hope.
