A Mother’s Story
Ms. Perez is a devoted single mother of three who has called her home her sanctuary for many years. When she recently received an eviction notice tied to urgent and costly property repairs, the weight of the situation became overwhelming. Without the financial means to address these critical needs on her own, Ms. Perez reached out to Catalyst in October 2025. From the very first conversation, it was clear that she and her children needed support—and that we were called to walk alongside them.
The First Step Forward
This project represents the first phase of restoring safety and stability for Ms. Perez and her family. It is more than repairs; it is about preserving a home where memories are made and futures are built.
A Day of Service and Compassion
On March 7, 2026, an incredible group of volunteers came together to make a tangible difference. With care, skill, and dedication, the team completed the following critical improvements:
Removed and replaced a deteriorated deck that had become unsafe for the family
Repaired and replaced several sections of fencing surrounding the property
Reinforced a failing retaining wall between the Perez home and a neighboring property
A team from Beaverton Christian Church served with open hands and generous hearts. In total, 27 volunteers contributed166 hours of service to complete this first phase of the project—hours filled with purpose, teamwork, and compassion.
Looking Ahead
While much has been accomplished, there is still more to do to ensure this home remains safe and secure:
Siding replacement and repairs planned for mid-April
Exterior painting scheduled by the end of April
Hope Built Together
It is deeply inspiring to witness a community rally around a neighbor in need. Through shared effort and genuine care, Ms. Perez and her children are one step closer to a stable, secure home—one that will shelter and support them for many years to come.
