Continuing a Promise of Care

Last year, Catalyst volunteers came together to make meaningful improvements to Ms. Olds’ home—installing new siding, fresh paint, and energy‑efficient windows. This month, we were honored to return and take the next step in that journey by providing her with an energy‑efficient ducted heat pump.

A Partnership That Made the Difference

Catalyst Partnerships NW proudly teamed up with our Trade Ally Partner, The Heat Pump Store, to replace Ms. Olds’ old, nonfunctioning electric heater. Thanks to generous Energy Trust of Oregon incentives, this vital upgrade was made possible at no cost to her.

Comfort, Health, and Peace of Mind

Ms. Olds, a widow living in a rural area, had been without reliable heat or air conditioning. She depended entirely on a wood stove for warmth—and on her dear friend Don to haul firewood each winter. Unfortunately, the smoke from the stove worsened her asthma and made breathing difficult.
Now, with her new ducted heat pump, Ms. Olds can enjoy steady warmth in the winter, cool relief in the summer, and clean, particulate‑free air all year long. It’s more than comfort—it’s improved health, safety, and peace of mind.

A Blessing Shared by Many

This upgrade has been a true blessing for Ms. Olds. And Don is smiling too—grateful that he no longer has to haul cords of wood through the winter months. Together, this is what community, compassion, and partnership can achieve.
