August 2026 - A Safer Home for Mr. Veaham

Supporting Independence at Home

Mr. Veaham is a 79-year-old disabled, low-income homeowner who has proudly called his 1985 house home for the past eight years.
In 2021, Catalyst remodeled his bathroom to better accommodate his wheelchair, creating a safer, more accessible space where he could move with greater comfort and independence. Over time, however, the bathroom floor became damaged by regular wheelchair use, creating a new safety concern.

A Community Partner Steps In

We knew Mr. Veaham needed flooring that could withstand his daily needs while keeping his home safe. The flooring installed in 2021 was not the right fit for this level of use, so we reached out to our trusted partner, Paulsons Floor Coverings.
After learning about Mr. Veaham’s situation, Paulsons recommended durable flooring designed for his needs—and then generously offered to install it at no cost.

An Incredible Gift

Because of Paulsons Floor Coverings’ kindness, Mr. Veaham now has a beautiful new floor that is safer, stronger, and built to support his independence at home. He is overjoyed with the result.
This thoughtful act is a powerful reminder of what happens when local businesses use their skills and resources to care for their neighbors. Thank you, Paulsons Floor Coverings, for your generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping make Mr. Veaham’s home safer.
