A Lifetime on the Land

Ms. Long has lived on her property since she was just six years old. In 1976, she and her late husband rebuilt the home where she still lives today—a home filled with memories and the hope of passing it down to her children.

When Repairs Become Overwhelming

Over the years, critical repairs began to pile up. The turning point came when a large branch crashed through her roof. Keeping the home safe became a daily struggle. Catalyst stepped in with temporary tarps, but it was clear that a long-term solution was urgently needed.

A Community Steps In

This spring, Catalyst partnered with Peak Performance Roofing to make that solution a reality. Together, we:

·      Removed the old, failing roof

·      Replaced 16 sheets of damaged plywood

·      Installed all-new barge boards

·      Re-sided the chimney (the wood was completely rotted!)

·      Added ridge vents for improved ventilation

·      Installed a brand-new roof

All of this work was provided completely free of charge to Ms. Long and her family.

Peace of Mind, at Last

Today, Ms. Long and her son can finally rest easy, knowing their home is safe, dry, and strong again.

The Power of Neighborly Love

It’s a profound joy to be part of stories like this—where neighbors come together to bring real, lasting change.
