A Call for Help
Ms. Ellis, a disabled senior living on a fixed income in a mobile home, was facing a dire situation. Her roof was failing, putting her home at risk of serious water damage. With no means to repair it herself, she reached out to Catalyst—and her community answered.
Neighbors in Action
On August 9, a volunteer team from the Beaverton Christian Church men’s group arrived ready to help. With compassion and efficiency, they removed the old roof and replaced four sheets of damaged plywood. Their kindness didn’t stop there—they also addressed a dangerous section of Ms. Ellis’s deck, making it safer for her to navigate until a full replacement can be completed in 2026.
A Gift from Above
With the prep work complete, Ability Plus Roofing stepped in on August 11 to install a brand-new roof. The materials were generously donated by QXO (Beacon Building Supply), ensuring Ms. Ellis’s home will remain dry and secure for years to come.
Community, Compassion, and Care
This project is a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when people come together. Through teamwork, generosity, and love, Ms. Ellis now has a safe and comfortable home—and a community that truly cares.
