A Neighbor in Need
On June 19 and 20, a remarkable act of community unfolded in Lake Oswego. Mr. Springate, a 72-year-old neighbor, had been living under a roof that was long past its prime—posing serious safety concerns. But thanks to the generosity of Bliss Roofing and the dedication of local volunteers, his home now stands stronger and safer than ever. (full roof story click here)
Preparing the Way
Before the new roof could be installed, the Catalyst team, in partnership with The Harbor, stepped in to remove a deteriorating porch awning that had become a hazard. This initial phase required a full day of tear-down, handled with care and precision by a team of committed volunteers.
Building Something Better
Once the new roof was in place, ) Catalyst volunteers returned to rebuild the awning—restoring not just the structure, but a sense of dignity and security to Mr. Springate’s home.
A Grateful Heart
Mr. Springate was overwhelmed with gratitude. The outpouring of care and support moved him deeply, reminding all involved that even small acts of service can have a profound impact.
