Catalyst Partnerships started in September 2007 as an informal grass-roots movement, consisting of a few families and individuals who simply wanted to help neighbors who needed assistance with home repairs due to physical or financial limitations. Catalyst Partnerships was registered as a public-benefit non-profit corporation on August 1, 2008, and was recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 Public Charity on March 1, 2010. Since our inception we have worked with thousands of volunteers to complete hundreds of projects in the Portland Metro Area of Oregon. Catalyst Partnerships has a six member Board of Directors. Operations are led by Founder/Executive Director Shawn Mitchell (0.5 FTE), Construction Manager Darrell Kriechbaum (0.8 FTE), and dozens of volunteer staff and projects leaders.
